I did like the inhabitants of the Magic Faraway Tree, but for me the real joy of the book, was the multitude of different lands – some welcoming and fun, others quite scary – but all highly imaginative and unique. Importantly, the protagonists discover the Magic Faraway Tree, inhabited by fantastical beings, and at the top of which different ‘lands’ (e. I really think that Kate Winslet helped bring this series into the modern day and I would very highly recommend getting younger children the audiobooks to this series as they would absolutely love it. Sometimes, they would get stuck there and it would take quite a while for them to find their way back to the tree but they would manage somehow. they could see the trees in the wood, and hear them talking their strange tree-talk: ‘Wish-wisha-wisha-wisha!
