The mine was acquired by Messrs Lewis & Phillips in 1825 and, despite several lawsuits being taken out by Lawrence the previous lessee, much development took place. It was during this period that several shafts were sunk, including New Engine and White Grit Shafts, an engine house being erected at the latter. White Grit Shaft has now collapsed and the engine house has suffered badly over the years, leaving only the lever wall and parts of two others standing to the west of the road.Everything was perfect! You provided us with everything we needed and more! The views out the front were amazing, the walks behind the pod were enjoyed by us all, especially our dog. The hot tub was brilliant and perfect to relax in after a long trek. The pod was warm, cosy and clean and made for a super enjoyable stay. The brownies and Prosecco were such a lovely touch and put an extra layer of icing on an already perfect cake! Thank you. We will certainly look forward to a return visit.
The location is so nice and quiet with stunning views to wake up to, perfect for a peaceful break! Hot tub was amazing, always clean and hot and well looked after every morning. We had such a lovely few days and will definitely be recommending to others! Step through the circular door to find the snug seating area at your feet, where you can recline and watch the world go by out of the doors with a rewarding beverage in hand. Ideally located for exploring the natural beauty of Shropshire, Corndon Pod is perfect for a rural retreat with your loved one. Fungus gnats are also very fond of stored compost, especially if it is freshly sterilised or contains animal-derived fertilisers. Keep all your spare compost bags tightly closed. Even better, buy new compost as you need it and avoid storing it altogether. Loam-based John Innes composts tend to be less attractive to fungus gnats than soil-less composts.
