Most squonk mods come with bottle capacities of 7-10ml. This means that you can carry around an entire day’s worth of juice on you, with no need to refill throughout the day, making a squonk mod extremely convenient to carry.

Its generic box form factor may be a little off putting, however its a short and sweet device, and extremely lightweight.

It is also in the devices section where you can use the Find Device feature. Basically, when you activate it (a big red button!), it locates your device, which then gets the mod to emit beeping sounds, just in case you can’t remember which room you left your mod in. Overall : Yay or Nay? The battery efficiency on the Topside Dual is noticeably better than other squonk mods. This means more time vaping and less time charging, even at mid to high wattages. Of course, being a regulated squonk mod, the Topside Dual also has multiple battery safety features built in. Vandy Vape has had the Vandy Vape App since the Swell Mod, if I am not mistaken, although this is the first time I am using this app. Unfortunately, it is only available via the Google Play Store (Android) at the moment due to the various oddities going on with vape apps in other app environments like iOS. This is a surprisingly short device, considering it houses a single 21700 battery, its literally millimetres taller than the original Pulse BF Mechanical Squonk Mod.

The only problem with squonkers was, up until recently, that they were all mechanical. If you were looking for regulated squonk mods, you just couldn’t find any. Once fully paired, you’ll notice a little green tab at the top right, that shows that your phone is linked to the mod, and you’ll notice a small phone logo at the top right of your mod! Impressive. Likewise, you don’t want to use an RDA with a bottom feed pin fitted on a standard mod, as juice will drip down through the bottom feed pin and get into your mod through the 510 connector. I have just replaced my Tsunami 24 with a Druga. I just love the Druga. It comes with std and squonker pins. It’s worth mentioning that the Pulse V2 has a waterproof board but it is not a waterproof mod and as such it doesn’t have an IP rating like other truly waterproof devices. The waterproof board means that, while it should survive ejuice leaks and water being spilled on it, you shouldn’t go dunking it into a tub of water. Pulse V2 Button Combinations

Thankfully, these are not as hard as water bottles as some other squonk bottles can be. Pushing the squonk bottle wasn’t such a chore either. The position of where the squonk bottle can be squeezed was OK, although I do have short thumbs. It just meant that I needed to slightly rotate the mod in my hand to get to the bottle, from a position of firing the mod. Everything about it just screams quality along with intelligent design. From the mod appearance, weight, finish, ease of use, and usability of an app (that actually works!) – it feels like almost everything was considered and thought out in the development of this mod. I highly, highly recommend this to vapers who would like to get into squonking, or even to seasoned vapers who are looking for a less chunky squonker for being out-and-about. For the price of this mod compared to competitors plus what the mod offers the vaper, the choice of this as a starter squonker is a no-brainer! The bottle is removed via a latch on the bottom. If you unscrew it about a quarter of a turn, you can pull the whole bottle assembly out for cleaning. To refill though is the best part of this. You unscrew the latch on the bottom with the mod upside down and fill directly into the bottle. Very easy and no mess from removing bottles. I love the filling on them. Well worth having propriety bottles and makes sense for the application. The latch itself has a magnet so it closes by itself which is nice too. If you’re a wattage only kind of person, its easy to remove all the other options which just makes life a little easier day to day. VandyVape Pulse 2 Mobile App (Android Only at Present)

The second tab is for temperature control mode. You can select your coil material, set your temperature, and also set the wattage in TC mode. Unfortunately there’s no way to set your TCR which is disappointing. Now its not the end of the world, but with convenience always on my mind, its a little annoying that I have to constantly adjust my hands to squonk, and then re-adjust to fire.

Filling the squonk bottle is simple and mess free but done from underneath as it is a bottom fill device, you will see what looks like a battery latch door similar to some Aegis mods, (a tiny magnet keeps the loop in nicely in place). I found there was no need to RTFM (Read The F**king Manual) as the menu and navigation were pretty easy to suss out on your own by dabbling and pressing combinations of buttons.I was pleased how much common sense each option was.I like the way they kept the main modes in a simple top level (3 x Fire) scroll navigation while keeping the deeper, less used functions within its own sub menu. Power mode performance is amazing. I actually find the Pulse V2 to hit a bit harder than other mods that are set to the same wattage, so I tended to lower my wattage a bit. This mod hits hard and right away, without delay.However don’t expect to get much vape-time out of a single 21700 if you require the full 95 watts, and even less so if you plan on using the adaptor and making use of a single 18650 battery.
