About this deal

It kept 3 children occupied (5, 2 3/4 and 2 1/2 - keep marbles away from very young children), each having their own pieces and constructing their own marble runs - you don't have to make 1 big joined up effort! Of course daddies construction, left as a surprise for the next morning also went down well (you can have several starting places for the marbles to allow for many hands to pile them in. Can be very sturdy. You can build large structures that stand up to hours of play and can even be moved without necessarily breaking. (Although the designs are up to you, and some young engineers prefer to build super-high towers without many supports on the floor, so they can fall over, but that's a good learning experience with any building toy.) This particular set comes with an alpine slope which causes the marbles to fly off the slope and land in a chute that is set up nearby. Once you get the correct height and width set up between the slope and the chute, it performs with amazing accuracy. The slope seems to be a favorite of everyone who uses it. Please see included image to view the alpine slope in action. My 3 year old is not able to assemble the marble run himself, but kids 6+ seem to have no issues assembling this independently. The nice part about how sturdy it is and how snugly the pieces fit together is that I can assemble a marble run for the kids and it holds together well thought hours of playing. I can build one large marble run and have it last for days worth of play without having to worry about it falling apart. Our previous marble run was so flimsy, I found myself building and rebuilding several times a day.

Simple yet strong, the 200 piece Mega Marble Run Marathon is an ideal introduction to the endless joys of creative engineering. The amount of pieces in the Mega marble run are more than enough, if not too much, you should not need a larger version than this. The design, construction, and engineering aspects of this set are engaging and fun: You can include switch parts that route every-other-marble into alternate routes, spinners that get turned by the marbles, a jump that throws a marble towards a catcher, and basins where marbles roll around and around before falling down the center. OK, so I knew this was going to be a hit with the kids because I had one as a child and it's just a brilliant concept and endless fun. I did wonder which set to buy, as the Mega one isn't cheap, but in the end I went with it and it is *so* worth it. There are a ton of excellent additions and noveelties (like *three* circular plates where the marbles roll in circles for ages!) but there are also loads of the old favourites AND lots of simple cylindrical support pieces, so you can make these huge creations and, crucially, keep them stable, with the marbles rolling the right way! They've really got the balance right on this, so you can make towers that use almost every piece and keep adding to them. I mean, er, the kids can, obviously, not me. *cough* Out of the several brands we've tried of marble runs, this set has been our favorite- giving us the best quality with a reasonable price point. There is a colour guide included to show you exactly what you can do with the chutes, tubes, vortexes, wheels and more you’ll have at the ready! There are 20 marbles included, too, for when you’re ready to put your run to the test. There are still others I'd like, but for now, we have more than enough pieces to make a giant set with multiple entrances, switching paths, and exits. It's a blast.

Galt's exciting Mega Marble Run is mega fun. This 100 pieces construction set contains lots of exciting pieces. Build simple marble runs or more complex structures with the colourful, slot-together pieces. The marbles disappear inside the columns, roll down the chutes, spin through the paddle wheels and ring the bell as they go. Children will enjoy creating endless variations and grown ups may even want to get in on the act. The set contains six chutes, 42 tubes, five bases, three starter tops, two see through tubes, three vortex, two vortex joints, wiggly chute with bells, staircase, staircase support, curved chute with horizontal wheel, two way chute with alternating piece, 180 degree turn, S shaped chute, three paddle wheels, wheel casings, vertical wheel chute and 20 marbles. Marble runs aid child development in a number of ways. Building a marble run encourages children to use their imaginations and problem-solving skills. To construct the marble run, they use both fine motor skills and logical and sequential thinking. An exciting construction set with 100 pieces including three vortex, three paddle wheels, a wiggly bell chute, staircase, two way chute, 180 degree turn and much more. This is a fantastic toy which all kids love, basically, and the Mega version, if you can stretch to it, is really worth every penny.
