About the Northwest Regional Forestry Framework

The Northwest Regional Forestry Framework is the long term strategy for forestry in England’s Northwest. Created after considerable consultation both within and beyond the forestry and timber sectors, it is helping to shape the woodland and forestry sector in our region for the next twenty years.

The toolkit for planners and developers is just one of the outputs from the Regional Forestry Framework. In order for the framework to effect real change across the region, it has developed an action plan, which set actions within the six ‘action areas’ covering regional image, industry, biodiversity, health climate change and resources.

These actions are enabling a broad range of agencies and organisations across the Northwest region to deliver a stronger, healthier and more prosperous woodland and forestry sector.
