I, like many others, have tried all sorts of hacks at home to lower my energy usage, and hopefully my gas and electricity bills. We were previously using those small water collectors that absorb moisture this thing does the job properly.

The 24-hour timer on this Swan dehumidifier means you can set it to run for as long as you need it and it’s impressively quiet so it won’t disturb you when in use, even whilst you try to sleep. The Swan 20-litre dehumidifier is fitted with wheels and a carry handle to allow for easy moving around the house and from room to room, so you can move it around as you please to wherever its needed. It works very well for dehumidifying but when it is full, it leaks and hade water damaged my wooden floor. We are currently testing some brand-new features to make our community the best it can be for our Swan family.

After trying out different timer lengths, I found that setting it on for 6 hours in the morning around 8 am, central in the room with airers meant I could come home from work and the clothes would be dry and ready to fold away.

I positioned the dehumidifier at the side of the airer, making sure that the air coming from the fan was going into the airer to reach all the clothes. However, because of the Swan’s auto-shut-off mode, as soon as the tank is full, the machine stops and won’t start again until it is emptied. It’s a little larger than some other dehumidifiers I’ve seen, such as the Meacodry Arete One (around 10cm shorter and 5 kg lighter), but the design is sleek and its wheels make it easy to move around the house. You can choose the optimal humidity for a room, and the dehumidifier will keep extracting until this level is reached and then cease, so will not stay on longer than needed. Usually, in that room there are around two to three loads of washing, from the four adults I share the house with, drying at one time which means it gets damp quickly.Be aware that you will always get the truth, some of the reviews are good and some might be more negative, so always take them with a pinch of salt!

Thanks to the built-in nylon filter, it simultaneously removes dust from the air and thus improves the overall climate.The filter (which sits above the bucket at the front) is easy to remove and clean and easy to reinsert.
