About this deal

That seems like a much more logical end to this journey-to-Hogwarts theme, particularly considering that all the robes lacked house-markings. He comes with a golden key (2 in fact, as there’s a spare on the sprue), and is dressed quite handsomely in a dark red blazer. Include one less envelope (got that one on 2 December), but include chimney – for example as my attempt below. What is really interesting about each build is that they could easily be used in an everyday Harry Potter display just by swapping out the snowy bricks. com is an Introducer Appointed Representative of Pay4Later Limited, trading as Deko, which is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FRN 728646).

I do like the Gringotts desk we got in the calendar, so I’ll let that one remain unchanged (might even consider the design for my custom Gringotts bank. Compare and explore our range of Harry Potter Advent Calendars to find the perfect one for your little wizard. One thing the game does, is to tie the different models together in the “Journey to Hogwarts” theme, adding a more visible timeline. There was quite a lot of Sellotape holding the flap in place, and this was a little tricky to remove without damaging the box. I believe the pink printed tile is exclusive to the Harry Potter Advent Calendar, so this is a great addition to your LEGO Harry Potter collection, and bonus points that its printed!

Maybe this signals that we’ll eventually get a Leaky Cauldron building that can be used to expand 75978 Diagon Alley, as I can absolutely see this sign being repurposed again. That said, it looks much better once you load it up with Hedwig, a chocolate frog and some spellbooks! While the presence of the Christmas Tree does give off very festive vibes as we’re 2 days from Christmas… I can’t help quite feel a little underwhelmed that there isn’t really a “climax” to the calendar. I believe this is the first time LEGO has made a calendar that is over multiple periods of time and the first time it’s ever come together as a game. Following on from Day 1’s Privet Drive sign, this version of Harry Potter is significant as he’s dressed in the outfit where he receives the deluge of Hogwarts letters, much to the annoyance of the Dursleys. You can also attach the wreath to either stud, but I chose to clip it on the flag, to make it slightly easier to grip and raise it to send the letters flying out! As calendar, but include envelope along with Harry (previous calendars often had accessories with the figures). The proportion is much more to my liking, and I guess it makes it a little different than the previous years. This is LEGO’s fourth year of Harry Potter Advent Calendars, and similar to the 2021 version, there’s some sort of game included in the 2022 version as well!

Apart from the envelopes and wizard card tiles, the printed pieces are all unique to the calendar and (with the spinner top being the exception) very useful pieces when creating your own models. The 24 gifts found within this special holiday calendar combine easily with all other LEGO Harry Potter sets for endless creative building, imaginative play and impressive displays. Here’s a look at Ron’s alternate face, with a terrified look – maybe he spotted a large spider or something. Day 5 of the 2021 Harry Potter Advent Calendar gives us more delightful references from the Philosopher’s Stone, with Hagrid’s Birthday cake, given to Harry for his 11th birthday! I do wish the wheels were slightly better, as they don’t spin as well – proper wheels would’ve made this so much more enjoyable and playable! The table has benches on the sides, and has a number of food items – a plateful of cherries, a baguette and a pumpkin. Looking at the plot progression, and the silhouette of Day 12’s build… it’s probably a no-brainer that we’ll get for Day 12! Lego is really great about replacing missing and sometimes even lost parts, because they want you to enjoy and be fully happy with your sets. In fact, there’s a really clever play feature built in here – you can take the Hogwarts Letter tile from Day 1, pop it inside the Fireplace, and when you lift the black flag, it pops right out!

A WELL-RECOGNIZED BRAND: Cinereplicas has the full confidence from Warner Bros to represent them in terms of merchandise production and develop high quality Harry Potter product lines. While the models and builds have been more miss than hit this year, I do appreciate the chronological story-telling with each day’s windows, tracing Harry’s journey from 4 Privet Drive to the Leaky Cauldron, and now, as he takes his first few steps into Diagon Alley.

With 24 windows that open every day until Christmas, your December promises many pleasant surprises!
