About this deal

Blabbermouth (April 24, 2021). "JOE LYNN TURNER Entertained Offers From FOREIGNER And BAD COMPANY Before Joining DEEP PURPLE". BLABBERMOUTH.NET . Retrieved April 26, 2021. With a title like Living The Dream, surely, I thought to myself, we’re into optimism, a cup half full? Musically, the song has a complete, almost commercial-type riff. The lyrics are a reflection on life, a life well-lived, with a hint of realism. This is a song about facing life’s challenges, and even if the dreams don’t come true, even if they don’t always turn out the way you wanted them to, you still tried, and you still lived your life. It’s a fabulous, realistic, honest look at all of us and a celebration of all of our lives, be they magic, mystical or mundane. This song is quiet, understated brilliance. Turner was extensively interviewed for the 2016 book, The Other Side of Rainbow, by author Greg Prato, and is also featured on the book's cover. [13] In putting this album together Joe Lynn Turner may well have been influenced by recent world events over the last couple of years. It happened completely by accident, but some of the best things happen by accident,” Joe notes. “I was not very familiar with Peter’s bands Pain and Hypocrisy, but when we met, I loved his personality, and I felt like we had a chemistry together. On the writing side, you have to change and grow to mature. I had this in me. As far as pushing into a heavy vein, Peter said, ‘Joe adapted his voice,’ which is the truth. It’s still me though. I kept it dirty, gritty, and metal.”

L.A. Blues Authority vol. 5 – Cream of the Crop (1994 compilation of covers by Blues Bureau International) – "Sittin' on Top of the World" She said: “You gotta do it! And this is the perfect time. New album – update yourself. You’re seventy-one years old, who are you trying to impress?” I said: “Okay, I’m scared shitless but I’m gonna do it.”In 2013, he sang a few songs in a guest role on the Avantasia album The Mystery of Time, released in March. Long before you joined Rainbow, you were a Deep Purple fan. Did it feel surreal being in that band?

After goodness knows how many decades as a musician, he’s still sounding original and fresh, and yes, hungry. This album has an energy that you’d expect from, well, someone much younger, and it’s a revelation to hear. In February 2015, Turner was a guest singer, alongside the winner Slavin Slavchev, in the final of the third season of X Factor Bulgaria. [12] They sang together " Street of Dreams". The release of two highly acclaimed original albums and two world tours in support gave him further recognition. Alopecia can affect just your scalp or your entire body, and it can be temporary or permanent. It can be the result of heredity, hormonal changes, medical conditions or a normal part of ageing. Anyone can lose hair on their head, but it’s more common in men.Your new album, Belly Of The Beast , was made with Swedish producer and death-metal musician Peter Tägtgren, and it’s surprisingly heavy stuff for you. Diagnosed when he was three years old, Joe Lynn Turner has openly spoken about his journey with alopecia, the general medical term for hair loss, and how, from a young age, he had to deal with “emotional and psychological damage from cruel bullying at school.” Today, he presents his natural likeness publicly for the first time.

Don’t Fear the Dark’ reminds me of Dio, and in a very good way. But Joe Lynn Turner is very much his own man, so don’t let the comparisons fool you. The song positively pumps along. With ‘Fallen World’ JLT tells us all that is wrong with the world, and has some swirling keyboard and guitar to support it over an almost spoken word/rap delivery in places. Yeah: wake up, people! We’ve been sleeping too long. We are spiritual beings but we’ve lost our way. Look at the state of the world – how did we get here? And we’re not here for ever, so make it count. It happened completely by accident, but some of the best things happen by accident,” Turner notes. I kept it dirty, gritty, and metal.” By the time you get to Dark Night, you might think that a pattern is emerging with the slow start and then a swift speed up. But no, Dark Night is a slow burn, with more familiar lyrics for Joe, but it’s sung and performed in a very much heavier tone. It’s still dark, still brooding, an introspective song of Metal damnation, a lost spirit beyond saving, “in the dark night of the soul.” If I’m honest, I’m not an expert on all of the twists and turns of Joe Lynn Turner’s career, but Belly Of The Beast is still utterly removed from what I was expecting. I thought I would get an album of sophisticated, mid-road and not particularly threatening music, yet all delivered by a fantastic voice.
