I want to let you know that one of the "Two Towers Extended Edition" (Disc 1) has a multiple problems that prevent the movie from being played. Now, if I followed things properly – and I might not have done – they all headed off to Forodwaith after many centuries, and so I don’t understand how Galadriel ( Morfydd Clark, in adult form, who’s also been in Crawl and 2020’s Dracula series) is still alive at that point, but then it’s fantasy fiction, so don’t try to take it seriously. Meanwhile, while The Hobbit films had a more troubled production history, aren’t quite as faithful to their source material, and tend to feel a little more padded in their Extended form, they’re still enjoyable and provide a strong narrative foundation for the earlier films (set later in the vast and detailed history of Middle-Earth). I have been wanting to purchase Lord of the Rings steelbooks for a while and knew I wouldn't settle for anything else, other than this collection. There are true deleted and extended scenes as yet unseen (as much as 30-minutes worth, it’s rumored, though many of these would have to be “finished” with VFX to some degree). Zavvi shipped this the moment the set became available, and it arrived well-protected by airbags, nary a dent or scratch. Zavvi packed these very well in a large box surrounded by bubble wrap and the Steel was inside another box, very happy with that. That won’t help, since as I type, the series so far only has 6/10 on IMDB, which is very poor for the money spent on this.What I saw there in your pictures lead me to think that either this could be as you said (problems with the disc), but also could be some issues of "handshake" between the devices in the chain, especially if you also get complete dropouts of video (black screen) and sound (no sound), not both at the same time or both at the same time.
