About this deal

The nine total push-fit plastic models you get in this box (making up the Skittershank’s Clawpack and The Shadeborn warbands) are all gorgeously detailed and – as is traditional with Underworlds and Age of Sigmar minis these days – modelled using dark magic to defy gravity with their cinematic poses. Each book features a blue cloth cover, a gold ribbon page marker, and Dark Imperium is signed by author Guy Haley .

The little tokens with the Underworlds logo on them are activation tokens, and the final pile in the bottom-right corner are Raise tokens.

These decks are perfect for beginners, or just those who want a straightforward game with no deck building. Set in the ravenous root-halls beneath the hungry forest of Ghur, the new box brings a host of new and updated rules – and two new warbands, the savage Gnarlspirit Pack and the skeletal Sons of Velmorn.

As for the rules and cards, I don’t want to go into too much detail, our friend John from Canyourollacrit can simply do that better.

Of course, any Khainite Shadowstalker worth their realmstone knows that torture is just as important as sneaking. It’s a fantastic way to expand your collection with two fun warbands – and you can even add the miniatures to your Warhammer Age of Sigmar armies. The Khainite Shadowstalkers are Morathi’s secret operatives and thus fit very well with the assassin vs assassin theme of Nethermaze. Pay particular attention to the weapon blades, the tips of the hair, and the chains worn by the Shadeborn’s leader, Slythael. Moving through the murky gloom will help you get into position to push enemies into unstable walls and columns, causing extra damage as the Creaking Ceiling crumbles and cracks.

Expand your Warhammer Underworlds experience with the Rivals of Harrowdeep, collecting the Xandire’s Truthseekers and Da Kunnin’ Krew warbands from Warhammer Underworlds: Harrowdeep.Lizzie, on the other hand, couldn’t actually score two of her three Objectives and wouldn’t be able to discard her hand until the end of the Round. Our final Round only took us about ten minutes, as we were well into the pattern of how the various turns progressed. If you’re looking to try Warhammer Underworlds for the first time, you’ll likely have a better time with the official starter set (even though its models aren’t anywhere near as exciting). In many instances, these technologies are reliant on cookies to function properly, and so declining cookies will impair their functioning.

Also available are the Sons of Behemat dice and the Mancrusher Mob, which includes three Mancrusher Gargants. Shroud Queen Slythael takes this power one step further – being in a cover hex bathes her in shadow, allowing her to teleport to edge hexes and other secluded spots. Whilst these dice are pretty cheaply made, it’s nice that their colours are themed to the overall deep sea, enchanted underworld theme of the box. Lizzie’s fate was sealed when two of her remaining sighters – Sylarc and Valyssa – were both killed leaving only the glaive-and-dagger-wielding Drusylla Vyserax in the centre of the battlefield. It transpired that when Lizzie had discarded her entire Upgrade/Gambit hand at the end of round 2, she had drawn five Upgrade cards that she couldn’t use as she hadn’t scored a single Glory Point. The Warhammer TV painting team has come up with a collection of paints for each warband to help you get them ready to enter the Gnarlwood. The other Objective card she held could only be scored in the third end phase is two or more of her fighters were in cover or edge hexes outside of her territory.
