About this deal

million people are living with a heart or circulatory disease in the UK right now – most of who don’t know it. Having high blood pressure (also known as hypertension) increases your risk of a heart attack or stroke. Retaining all the much loved features of previous years, this 2020 diary is helping raise critical funds with a percentage of proceeds of sale going directly to BHF.

We've worked with BHF nurses to make it easier to measure and manage your blood pressure at home by pulling all the information you'll need together in one simple place. When people have their blood pressure checked in the clinic it can be higher than expected, especially if they feel nervous or anxious. Detection Modes: Detection modes may offer a 7-day self-measurement program as well as a 'Usual Mode' for 3 consecutive measurements for an average reading. Home blood pressure monitoring enables patients with hypertension to measure and share their blood pressure readings with their GP from their home. The medical term for high blood pressure is ‘hypertension’, and it means your blood pressure is always too high.If you've been prescribed medication to control your blood pressure, it's really important you take it as prescribed. If you’ve been asked to monitor your blood pressure at home, your GP will ask you to check your blood pressure over several days. We've clearly included all of the cuff sizes on the products and added a filter to help you find the relevant sizes. Our online magazine for people with a heart condition, Heart Matters, is packed with articles on nutrition, activity and much more to support you to manage your blood pressure at home. We’ve planned a week of meals that will give you a balanced, heart-healthy diet whilst helping you to control your spending.

You can also ask your GP practice if they are part of any schemes where you can loan a blood pressure monitor from them. Throughout 2023 INCA will be raising money for this worthy cause at various events including the golf days, networking events (to be announced shortly), specific fundraising efforts and, of course at the INCA awards ceremony itself. For example, our HealthUnlocked community is a free online space where you can connect with others affected by heart and circulatory disease. Your arteries are the vessels (tubes) that carry blood from your heart to your brain and the rest of your body. All our Heart Hero Awards categories are open to everyone who has a connection to BHF and reside in the UK.

Regular home blood pressure monitoring across a population of 50,000 patients could prevent up to 500 heart attacks and 745 strokes over five years. Your GP may have a specific requirement for your blood pressure monitor, some are suitable for people with diabetes, some for use during pregnancy and some which have other features such as measuring your heart rate. It is important that we continue to promote these adverts as our local businesses need as much support as possible during these challenging times.A normal blood pressure reading is below 140/90, but if you have heart or circulatory disease, diabetes or kidney disease, your blood pressure should ideally be less than 130/80. The British Nutrition Foundation's Healthy Eating Week 2024 will be taking place from 10-14 June 2024. Your blood pressure will usually need to be checked more than once to confirm a diagnosis of high blood pressure.

This worksheet is part of Get active, stay active and comes with accompanying downloadable resources - available below. The British Heart Foundation (BHF) diary has been designed to be a personal record for patients post-myocardial infarction (MI) to record their progress, keep a record of their condition, provide guidance on services and basic information on medication and risk factors, and to provide pages that the patient can use to manage their condition. Stage one: this is when your blood pressure is between 140/90 mmHg and 160/100 mmHg in the clinic, or 135/85 mmHg to 150/95 mmHg at home. These adverts enable local businesses to get in front of their target audience – the local community. Check with your healthcare team how often to measure your blood pressure at home if you have your own monitor. Snacks: Two satsumas (or easy-peelers); one apple; a small handful of unsalted peanuts (30g); a serving (125g) of fat-free Greek-style yoghurt. This week of meals is intended t o give you an idea of how a week could look, based on average figures and requirements. The AFIB screening feature can offer an early alert to detect that your heart rhythm is not beating normally.
